WHERE:  Public Health Unit, Jan Stirling Building

WHEN:    The first weekend is February 9 and 10th, 2007

TIME:       Friday 6-8 p.m., Saturday 9:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Cost: $50.00 for the weekend, there is no refund for individual classes not attended. Couples with a written or verbal referral from the Health Family Program or CPNP will have the fee waived.

Registration: Advance registration is required. You must go in person to Yellowknife Public Health, Jan Stirling Building.

The week-end classes are offered every six weeks.  A minium of 3 couples is required.  A maximum of 6 couples can be accommodated.

It is suggested that you bring a support person to each class with you. It doesn't always have to be the same person, but it should be someone you plan to have at the birth.

Topics Include: relaxation techniques, birth as a rite of passage, warnings signs in pregnancy, labour and delivery, hospital tour, caesarean birth and medical interventions, infant nutrition, the early days and transition to parenthood.
