Our CEO
Kay Lewis joined the YHSSA team in September 2007 as Chief Executive Officer. Kay brings over 35 years of clinical nursing, educational and administrative experience in healthcare in both acute care and community settings. She has been a surveyor with the Canadian Council of Health Services Accreditation for 10 years and has a strong interest in quality improvement. Kay is a Certified Health Executive and until recently, was a Board Member of the Canadian College of Health Care Executives. Although Kay has resided in Prince Edward Island her work and surveying has provided her the opportunity to travel broadly across Canada and experience health care delivery in many settings both urban and rural including the North. She also has recent experience in facility, operational and occupancy planning. Kay looks forward to the opportunity to lead the development of the Consolidated Clinics project and further enhance the Integrated Service Delivery Model for both health and social services.
Kay has been the recipient of numerous professional awards for her achievements including the Lieutenant Governor’s Award for excellence in Public Administration. Kay and her husband Bruce have four adult sons. They enjoy golfing, curling and outdoor activities as well as the arts.
